How can I download bilbili videos in 1080p resolution? By default the videos get downloaded either in 720p or 480p resolution. I suppose that’s because to access full HD resolution viewing, Bilibili requires login. What’s the workaround?

I also tried using the cookies method by logging into bilbili and exporting my cookies.txt file. Then I used this command. But still the resolution of video was low.

Non-premium users have access up to basic 1080p, when using a premium account a higher bitrate version is unlocked, maybe up to 4K+ if available.

I remember it works. But it just logs wrong that it can’t distinguish if it’s because not logged in or just not premium account. https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp/blob/a9d069f5b8540f15caaf696bc39ce6a969f8b11c/yt_dlp/extractor/bilibili.py#L64-L69
